Every witness listed on WitnessReadyNow is individually reviewed and approved before their listing goes live. Witnesses are verified through one of the following:
Personally known — The witness is personally known to and vetted by our founder, a licensed Louisiana Notary Public with 15 years of professional experience in the Real Estate industry.
Personally endorsed — The witness has been recommended by someone personally known to and trusted by our founder. That recommending individual vouches for the witness's professionalism, reliability, and character.
Background checked — The witness has completed a third-party background check through NNA background screening (for licensed notaries) or Checkr personal background check (for non-notaries) and has passed successfully.
Every listing on WitnessReadyNow carries the weight of personal accountability — either ours or someone we trust. We do not list strangers without verification. That is our promise to every notary and signing platform that uses this directory.

I'm Labree Stockstill — a licensed Louisiana Notary Public, former real estate agent with 15 years of experience, and the founder of Orleans Notary-To-Go in New Orleans.
I built WitnessReadyNow because I lived the problem.
As a signing agent I've been on both sides of the witness equation. I've turned down signing opportunities because of lack of witnesses in the area. I've served as a witness myself. And I've heard firsthand from other notaries about witnesses who burned out quickly — not because the work was hard, but because the income was inconsistent and unpredictable. They were dependent on one or two notaries who called them sporadically. There was no way to build a real pipeline. No way to control their own schedule. No way to make witnessing a legitimate, sustainable income.
That's the problem WitnessReadyNow was built to solve.
I want to be clear about something: I did not build this platform to create my own private witness pool. I built it so that witnesses across this country have access to every notary and signing platform that needs them — not just one. The goal is for a witness listed on WitnessReadyNow to have enough consistent opportunities from enough different sources that they can build a real flexible income around their own life. A stay at home parent looking for extra income. A college student who works evenings and weekends. A retiree who wants meaningful part-time work.

What we expect from every WitnessReadyNow witnessBeing a verified witness is a professional role. These standards protect you, the notary, the borrower, and the integrity of every document you witness.
Background check:
Every witness must complete a background check before their listing goes live. Licensed notaries submit their current NNA background screening certificate. Non-notaries complete a Checkr personal background check. No exceptions.
Professional appearance:
Dress properly at every signing. No athletic wear, no strong perfume or cologne. You are entering someone's home or a professional office. First impressions matter.
Punctuality:
Signings run on tight schedules and a late witness can delay a closing and damage the notary's professional reputation as well as your own.
Identification:
Always bring a valid government-issued photo ID to every signing. You may be asked to present it.
Your role is to witness — nothing more. You are there to observe and confirm that the signer is who they say they are and that they signed willingly. If asked anything beyond your role, politely direct the question to the notary.
Phone and distractions:
Silence your phone completely before entering the signing. Do not take calls, send texts, or scroll during the appointment. Give the signing your full professional attention.
Communication:
If you accept a signing and something changes — you're sick, there's an emergency, you can't make it — notify the notary immediately. Do not go silent. Professional witnesses communicate promptly and honestly.
Tax responsibilities:
You are an independent contractor. WitnessReadyNow does not process payments or issue tax documents. You are responsible for collecting W-9 forms from notaries who pay you and for understanding your own 1099 reporting obligations if you earn $600 or more from any single notary in a calendar year. Consult a tax professional for guidance.
Insurance:
We strongly recommend that witnesses who make this a regular income source obtain Errors and Omissions (E&O) insurance. As you grow your witness business this protects you professionally. Our verified tier requires proof of coverage.
